Here are small, unique modeling works that emphasize the seasons and stories.
An exhibition titled “Stories of The Forest and Lake Buttonya: Bitter Ten” held in a gallery (“Gallery NISHIOGI Yon-San”) near the south exit of NISHIOGIKUBO Station (August 3-4, 2024).
Take this work called “Under a Small Light”, for example. According to the artist, the button at the bottom is embroidered with linen, wool, threads and beads, and has a plant motif. It can be used as a brooch or a hair accessory on its own, or combined with a canvas painting to create an interior accessory like this one.
On the other hand, these “quartz bangles” are works made from beautiful quartz sand that the artist, who is from near Tazawa Lake in Akita Prefecture, personally collected from the white sandy beach of Tazawa Lake.
多角的な美の創造
季節や物語を大切にした小さな、ユニークな造形作品群です。
JR西荻窪駅南口近くのギャラリー（「ギャラリー西荻43」）で開催された展覧会（「森と湖の物語 Buttonya:Bitter展」）（2024.8.3～4）。
例えばこの「小さな明かりの下」という作品。作家によれば、下部に配置されたボタンは、麻、羊毛、糸、ビーズを用いた、植物モチーフの刺繍作品で、単独でブローチにも、へアアクセサリーにも、また、キャンバスに描いた絵と組み合わせてこのようなインテリア・アクセサリーにもなるとのことです。
一方、この「石英のバングル」は、秋田県・田沢湖近くの出身の作家が、田沢湖の白い砂浜で自ら採取された美しい石英砂を材料にした作品です。
