FLOWERS WITH GAPS

The bright crimson flowers stand out against the hot summer sky.

“Momijiaoi” or Scarlet rose mallow planted in front of a private house in NISHIOGI.

The plant is a one-day flower originated in North America. It is tall and can reach 2 meters in height.

There are gaps between the petals, and the long stamens are noticeable. It is said that the name was given because the shape of the leaves resembles that of a maple.

Incidentally, the flower language of “Momijiaoi” is, for example, “mildness.”

隙間のある花

鮮やかな深紅色の花が炎天下の夏空に映えています。

西荻の民家前に植栽されている「モミジアオイ（紅葉葵）」。

北アメリカ原産の一日花で、草丈は高く、2ｍに達することもある。

花弁の間に隙間があり、長いおしべが突き出ているのが目立ちます。葉の形がモミジに似ていることからこの名前がついたと言われます。

因みに、「モミジアオイ」の花言葉は、例えば「温和」。
