What sounds and voices do you hear?
An exhibition titled “Hearing Voices from a Distance, Wakabayashi Tetsuhiro Exhibition” (2025.8.27-9.14) is on now in a gallery (“Yorokobito”) near the south exit of JR NISHIOGIKUBO Station.
The artist’s intention in creating these works is to create ” a painting with a simple surface, that exists like air, and in which the blank spaces play words and music.”
Take this work titled "Light Shining in the Heart", for example. Sunlight shines through the clouds on to the beach, and you can almost hear the roar of what appears to be a wolf in the background on the left.
余白の情趣
どのような音や声が聞こえてきますか？
JR西荻窪駅南口の近くのギャラリー（「ヨロコビto」）で開催中の展覧会（『遠くから声が聞こえる 若林哲博展』）（2025.8.27～9.14）。
作家の制作意図は、「シンプルな表層、空気のようにそこにあり、余白が言葉や音楽を奏でる絵」、というものです。
例えばこの「心にさす光」と題する作品。陽の光が雲間を通して海辺に降り注ぎ、左奥に見えるオオカミと思しき動物の咆哮も聞こえてくるようです。
